Read on for three simple ways to find your girlfriend ring size, quick tips, and some info on international ring size conversions.
My ring sizes all use standard US measurements.
💡Tips #1: Ask who might know your girlfriend's ring size (sister, mom, friends), if they don't know it directly they could help you find it indirectly. Talking about rings between friends is much more common than talking about it with your boyfriend and you would not arouse any suspicion.
Confusingly, different countries (like the UK, France, Germany, Japan and Switzerland) all have their own measurement systems.
Please refer to this international conversion chart to find your corresponding US size.

Note: just for reference, most women's ring fingers are a US size 6, although size 5 and 7 are also common.
In case the help of the "public" doesn't work here is another technique to be able to find the ring size of your girlfriend, but be careful, you will have to transform into a Ninja in order not to be discovered.
In fact, you will need her ring to measure or compare.
💡Tips #2: Measure the inside of one of its rings with a ruler.
💡Tips #3: Compare the inner circumference with my reference guide.
This method is only applicable with the help of your girlfriend's physical finger, so no surprise effect, but it might come in handy so I post it here.
Print my size guide at 100% scale and follow the instruction of the second part.
Can't you find the size on my website? Don't worry, in the site I've put the avarage customer size, contact me and I'll be more than happy to made the ring of your size.
First of all, don't worry!
Your girlfriend will be busy looking at all the little hearts thinking about your statement that this mistake will take a back seat.
Since the ring is exactly the size you ordered, if you didn't get the size wrong, it could be that your girlfriend's fingers are, for some reason, bigger or smaller momentarily, so give yourself 2/3 days to test the size.
If the size is really wrong here are two solutions:
The rings were made, the still-life images for e-commerce published, only a few photos with the rings worn were missing.
I needed a girl with manicured hands, sweet lips and beautiful hair. Luckily my friend Joëlle corresponds to this description, so I called her and told her to take some clothes with her and put on a light nail polish that I would have photographed wearing my jewels, making her my testimonial.
]]>As I discovered at this stage of my life: it was necessary for me to also take that photography course in 2010 and discover, about 10 years later, that it would come in handy.

It had been years that I hadn't picked up my SLR and it took me a few minutes to remember exactly all its functions in order to take a decent photo. Considering the fact that my set simply consists of a light, a chair and a wall, I am very happy with the result.
In this initial phase of my business I am trying to do everything I can personally and even if the result is unprofessional, self-made things are priceless.
This is just the beginning of a series of photos that I intend to take to show my worn jewelry, with time and practice I am sure I can improve the quality of my photographs.
Here are some photos from this photographic afternoon, let me know what you think in the comments.
At GWUMM, gold is offered in three colors: yellow, rose and white. Colored gold is a combination of pure gold and alloys, because in pure form (24k), gold is an orange-yellow color and is too soft to work with in jewelry.
With the addition of alloys, the harsh orange color is softened and the material becomes more structurally sound and capable of retaining shape. Alloys give rose gold its warm, blush toned hue, allow yellow gold to retain a variation of its “true” gold color, and can cool down white gold to shine through in its silver essence.
Yellow gold combines pure gold, fine silver, and copper, resulting in a rich and warm golden hue. Yellow gold is the most popular and classic color choice as it has stood the test of time. Although I am a fan of rose gold this is the main color in which I thought of these collection.
A mix of pure gold and copper gives rose gold it’s pink finish and ethereal nature. Often deemed romantic and feminine, Rose Gold is currently considered the trendiest option but I believe it will never go out of style. It ages gracefully and will continue to be a subtle daily reminder of this time period which is a beautiful gesture on it’s own.
This is my absolute favorite color for jewelry, it is fashion and unisex despite the fact that pink is often thought of as a feminine color🤷♂️.
To achieve its white color, pure gold is often mixed with zinc, palladium, or nickel alloys. White gold rings are also dipped in rhodium, giving them a brilliant, chrome-like color, while also protecting them from scratching. However, to maintain this white luster, white gold should be “re-dipped” every few years– a simple and affordable upkeep.
One day I will also make some rings for men and this will surely be the main color.
Here at GWUMM, I craft my jewelry in 14k solid gold (never plated, filled or vermeil).
Everyday jewelry is usually made with 14k solid gold while jewels for special occasion and wedding are made with 18k solid gold. I'm here to help break these two golds down, so you can better understand the jewelry you wear everyday.

Everyday jewelry is usually made with 14k solid gold while jewels for special occasion and wedding are made with 18k solid gold. I'm here to help break these two golds down, so you can better understand the jewelry you wear everyday.
Gold is most often classified by a numerical value followed by ‘k’, for karat. Karatage is a value that tells us what percentage of pure gold your jewelry contains. The purest form of gold is 24k, but it's too soft and malleable to use for jewelry. Because of this, alloys are mixed in to give the material strength and structure (and can be adjusted to create different colored golds!). When combined, this entire material is called "solid gold" (not to be confused with plating, vermeil or gold filling).
So you can keep it on throughout your busy day, all of my jewelry is made with 14k gold. 14k gold means that there are 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts alloys like copper, silver and zinc, making it a stronger gold for everyday wear. Most people with metal sensitivies are able to wear 14k gold.
18k gold is softer with a slightly brighter coloring because it contains 18 parts pure gold and 6 parts alloys. This is typically seen as a special occasion gold and can definitely be used in your engagement rings or finer pieces of jewelry.
It's suggest being mindful of the piece by taking it off from the sides and removing it completely for labor-intensive work.
All golds aside, 14k and 18k are still considered "solid gold," never plated, vermeil or filled. They are only strengthened with other alloys so you can enjoy your jewelry pieces longer.
The main difference between 14k gold and 18k gold is its hardness and resistance. I chose 14k gold for this very reason:
I want your jewel to always be with you to remind you how great a person's love can be.
At GWUMM, I want to ensure the longevity of my jewelry so you can enjoy it for years to come just as love should be, which is why I choose to only use solid gold.
With so many terms to describe gold jewelry, it can be confusing to know exactly what you’re buying, the value of your pieces and how to look after them.
]]>Here at GWUMM, however, I want to ensure the longevity of my jewelry so you can enjoy it for years to come just as love should be, which is why I choose to only use solid gold.
With so many terms to describe gold jewelry, it can be confusing to know exactly what you’re buying (especially if you are not practical), the value of your pieces and how to look after them.
I would like to explain to those men who are buying jewelry for their girlfriend what sets these types of gold apart, to help them choose the right one.
Summary: expect a short lifespan.❌
When something is gold plated, it means that a base metal like brass has been quickly dipped in a solid gold bath. The gold content is usually less than 1%. While they may possess the same luster and gold appearance at first, this layer is quick to fade when washed, rinsed, or rubbed too hard, leaving behind discolored skin and dirty looking jewelry. Most fashion jewelry is gold-plated, making the cost as low as possible.
Value for money: The price of gold plated pieces can vary. Remember, the thicker the plating, the longer the gold layer will last.
Summary: A high quality version of gold plating, depending the thickness of plating.❗️
Gold Vermeil is a common type of gold plating, which uses sterling silver as the base metal. Vermeil is more hypoallergenic and has a thicker layer of gold than normal gold plating, which is why you'll see it in stores selling fine jewelry. However, with enough scuffs and scratches the plating can wear off.
Value for money: Gold vermeil is more expensive than gold plated jewelry because it uses sterling silver as the core material.
Summary: Made with an old-fashioned technique that's usually more expensive than it's worth.❌
Instead of being dipped in gold, Gold Filled jewelry undergoes a mechanical bonding process that melts a thicker layer of gold onto the base metal. By law, gold filled jewelry must contain 5% gold by weight to be categorized as such. Because of this, the inside of a gold filled jewelry piece will still be stamped with a karat number, however this is only for the filled coating. While filled jewelry will maintain its gold cast for longer, it will inevitably undergo discoloration and tarnishing after time.
Value for money: Gold filled jewelry is generally a bit more expensive than gold plated jewelry with similar base materials because it's not as economical to manufacture and due the uses of more gold.
Summary: The best of gold-tone jewelry. ✅
When jewelers simply refer to "gold," they are usually talking about solid gold. Solid gold's name is a bit misleading—while it's the highest quality type of gold, it isn't 100% gold element (or Au on the Periodic Table). In its most pure form (24k) gold is soft, almost orange in color, and altogether too weak to work with for jewelry. Because of this, alloys are added to create a more structurally sound metal that mixed together, is known as "solid gold."
Not all solid gold has equal proportions of pure gold, however. 14k solid gold, used in my jewelry, has 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts other alloys, whereas 18k gold, is 18 parts gold, 6 parts alloys.
Value for money: Solid gold is the priciest gold-tone jewelry you can buy, and the higher the karatage (proportion of gold), the more expensive it will be. Since it's gold all the way through, you won't have to worry about the gold color rubbing away, but you'll have to be ready to spend more on it, especially if the pieces are really large and use a lot of material.
GWUMM solid gold products are 14k; I like the beautiful, sumptuous color that isn't too orange. It's hardy enough for daily wear, and starts at a friendlier price point.
In my career I have created both gold plated, vermeil and solid gold jewelry. I will be honest by telling you that I was a big fan of plated jewelry, because they are cheaper and the result is quite similar to solid gold jewelry.
There is only one problem, the plating will go away sooner or later, this is the main reason that led me to use solid gold for my brand:
I wanted my jewels to be eternal.
There are pros and cons to all types of metals, but Solid Gold is generally the more superior metal because it’s the most durable, valuable and least irritating to those that have allergies to base metals. However, Solid Gold will be more expensive than plated or filled metals.
Gold Plated pieces are a more affordable alternative, however they only contain a tiny amount of gold and any friction will cause the plating to rub off quickly, leaving a dull piece of metal. Most base metals used in Gold Plated jewelry also tend to stain your skin green or cause allergic reactions. Gold Plated jewelry is only suitable for fashion jewelry, and requires more care and maintenance, as exposure to small amounts of moisture, sweat and lotions will degrade the piece rapidly. Regular re-plating is also required to restore pieces back to their original condition, resulting in added ongoing expenses.
Gold Filled pieces are also a more affordable alternative to Solid Gold, however over time they will also degrade and discolour.
With more affordable alternatives in lower carat gold (e.g. 14k gold), Solid Gold pieces will:
GWUMM was created to meet this need for premium, yet accessible fine jewelry, in a market saturated by two extremes: fast-fashion and unattainable luxury.
All of my jewelry is crafted in 14k Solid Gold, at accessible price points thanks to a good job made during the design process.
I like to describe my jewelry as:
"rings for lovers."
But what exactly does that mean? I want to try to clarify who I turn to and who my jewels are for.
I created this brand mainly to solve my problem, designed with the romantic man in mind who wants to surprise his woman with a unique jewel full of feelings without spend an arm and leg.
So if I think of rings for lovers the first thing that comes to my mind is a man who gives a ring to his woman. But love is more than just that.
Love has no age, gender, species (think of love for your pet), love has no boundaries, sometimes love is just a state of mind. To the million dollar question - what is love? - I learned to answer:
"love is what you think it is"
I created these rings to help express your love in any form: for someone, for something or just for you.
You can gift this ring to your best friend, your sister, your mother, your daughter. The only limit is how far love goes, but since love has no limit, well, they don't even have these rings.
I love the Earth. I believe in taking care of this beautiful planet and all the creatures that call this wonderful Earth home - including us.
This is why I always try to give an ecological aspect to every product I make here at GWUMM.
In my brand I have chosen to use solid gold thus avoiding the use of substances (often toxic) present in plated jewelry.
Furthermore, full gold jewelry is eternal and 100% recyclable.
"nothing is created or destroyed, everything is transformed"
Although I hope you can always keep your ring in its original form and maybe pass it down from generation to generation, you may decide to merge it and give it a new shape.
Packaging is one of the most discussed aspects in the field of sustainability and design. Here at GWUMM I have always been committed to making the box simply and not a product with a higher cost than its content.
This is a bit like what is happening in our society, we are much more attentive to form rather than content.
Once I bought a box of chocolates the size of an A3 sheet only to discover, once opened, that there were only 10 chocolates inside. That was a moment of epiphany:
"I never would have made a box more beautiful and important than its contents."
With my creations, their packaging, their history, this business model doesn't just want to "sell a product". I want to connect my fans to the true values of love and life.
"I want to upset the status quo of the market."
I want to explain to you why I am so happy with my packaging (and why you should be too when you hear what I did).
The GWUMM gift box in leatherette
In my mind I thought of these rings for a declaration of love, maybe not all of these will be made while kneeling but they will all have one aspect in common: the gift box.
I wanted a small box that I could hide in the pocket of your jacket so that I could take it out at the right moment without arousing suspicion.
I wanted it to be elegant, minimal, with attention to every detail and respectful of the environment. Just like my jewelry.
It's made from leatherette (I love animals too) it's so pretty and it will be so important that you won't want to throw it away. You can store your ring as many times as you want or use it as a jewel case.
This is one of the many aspects I am proud of about my brand that I use to promote sustainability. What do you think of this gift jewelry box packaging? I'd love to hear your opinion!

My way of working lies on the border between craftsmanship and industry. Mine are "digitally handmade" products as I like to call them. But what does it really mean?
Computer Aided Design (CAD) design technologies for the goldsmith sector are increasingly assuming a key role, both for the advantages that derive from an economic point of view, and for the opportunity they offer to interface with modern production automatic systems CAM type (Computer Aided Manufacturing).
These CAM automatic production systems are divided into two types:
The latter type, for clarity, includes the 3D printers that GWUMM uses for the creation of its jewels. In practice, once the 3D model has been created using CAD software, it is sent to a rapid prototyping machine for the realization of the resin / wax model which will later be melted.
The procedure is technological only in its first part, once the prototype in resin / wax has been printed, in fact, the procedures go back to being those of classic goldsmithing that rest their foundations on a technique dating back to the Bronze Age: lost wax
! A small clarification. In the last period, rapid prototyping systems have also been gaining ground, capable of directly printing metal such as gold, aluminum and titanium through a process called direct laser sintering of metals (DMLS) and selective laser melting (SLM).
This rapidly developing technology combines the design flexibility offered by 3D printing and the mechanical properties of metal. At the moment, however, it is used marginally in the goldsmith sector due to a very heterogeneous final surface that requires more manual finishing at a later time.
This modernization of the goldsmith sector has already existed for decades, however the cost of such software and especially printers were prohibitive for small artisan or designer workshops. As is often the case, modernization has made the cost of such machines more affordable.
Example of 3d printer uses in many field
Here at GWUMM I don't press any magic buttons. I let myself be inspired by what surrounds me, or rather, I let myself be inspired by the emotions that what surrounds me manages to arise.
For jewels with an organic shape, I "sculpt" the material exactly as a goldsmith would do, except that instead of small engraving tools I use the mouse. Furthermore, this technological methodology makes it possible to create shapes that are unattainable by hand, therefore technology should not be seen as an impoverishment of the creative flair, far from it is an enrichment, bringing the human imagination to the limits of the possible.
The use of CAD technologies requires a reorganization of the company structure with the adoption of a well-defined mentality and procedures that allow already in the conception phase, to define the cost of the model and to plan orders for the supply of raw materials that since it is a precious metal, it requires the immobilization of considerable capital. Furthermore, the integrated use of CAD allows to establish a dialogue between the designer, the production, the marketing and the distribution chain when no physical model has yet been produced and any modifications to the computer have a negligible cost.
I have the possibility to satisfy the customer's wishes, developing individualized proposals, rich in content and stylistically fascinating, which however do not find space in the production and distribution systems to which the jewelery sector is firmly anchored.
Innovation comes from independent creatives and visionaries, small entrepreneurs, new artisans, from dynamic realities that create new avenues for communication and alternative paths for promotion and marketing, without having to respect sales channels, production chains and systems pre-established organizational structures.
This is what I do here at GWUMM.
In the spring of 2020, the COVID-19 health emergency broke out in Italy, which forced us to stay at home for about 2 months. During this lockdown we all became a bit of great chefs.
One day I cooked some heart-shaped cookies with leftover cake dough. The next morning, at breakfast, as I looked at this bowl full of biscuits, an idea flashed into my head:

In the spring of 2020, the COVID-19 health emergency broke out in Italy, which forced us to stay at home for about 2 months. During this lockdown we all became "great chefs"👨🏻🍳.
One day I cooked some heart-shaped cookies with leftover cake dough. The next morning, at breakfast, as I looked at this bowl full of biscuits, an idea flashed into my head:
"How many ways could I arrange them on a ring?"
So I immediately went to my small home studio and started drawing and designing nonstop until this collection came out.
Now it was time to give a name to this collection and nothing seemed better to me than combining the words "hearts" and "cookies": HEARKIES! ❤️+🍪
The first thing I do in these cases is always start with a scribble and believe me, most of the time the drawing is hideous but in this phase the beauty matters little. If I had to draw precisely, I would lose 90% of inspiration.
First sketch of the Ring A
Then I move on to my beloved Mac and start designing by modeling the ring using 3D graphics programs. At this stage, especially having to stay at certain production specifications, I can realize that the initial sketch was really too imaginative and therefore needs some changes, luckily this was not the case.
The only change I had to make was to reduce the initially conceived camber of the hearts to avoid excessive use of material and consequently a high final cost of the jewel.
After a few hours I managed to get 6 models all different from each other by simply playing on a combination of full and empty shapes.
Of these 6 rings I don't know which one to choose 😍, each ring is cute in its own way but my two favorites are the Ring L and Ring 1.
I thought of this collection in yellow gold as it is the finish that immediately comes to mind when thinking about the wedding bands, but you can choose the color you like best among yellow, rose and white gold.
Combining all the points of my life, from the academic career, the passion for jewelry, my last love story and finally this health emergency, I decided to try to create a brand behind this collection and leave a mark on the universe.
I want to be honest with you and tell you that I already have the second, third and fourth collection in mind for this brand. But first of all I have to understand how interested people can be in this idea of mine and find the funds to finance it. That's why I'm collecting some information.
If you like the idea and believe in love as I believe in it, show me your interest by clicking on the button below and sign up, I will be eternally grateful.
When someone asks me where this all started, how my creative skills were developed or why I do what I do, I like to answer in an extremely simple way:
"With my birth, of course!"

When someone asks me where this all started, how my creative skills were developed or why I do what I do, I like to answer in an extremely simple way:
"With my birth, of course!"
My parents used to tell me that I did too many and when someone is too much of everything it is as if it were nothing. Maybe they are right, but my biggest dream in life is to be able to say:
"I've done them all, at least all the ones I wanted to do."
From this point of view, it doesn't seem so vain to have taken piano lessons or to have taken that photography course or, again, to have returned to study design at the age of twenty-five. One day I've understand that it was necessary for me to do all those things to get to where I am now and begin my greatest adventure.
Getting started is one of my favorite activities, the most exciting and the most difficult. One of the things I am proud to have learned is that there is no project/adventure that is too big or too complicated to do and there is only one way to do it:
"Begins!"
I am very connected to my inner voice, so at the age of twenty-five I felt a burning desire to make my own way and immerse myself more in the world of design. First I went back to study at university, which gave me the opportunity to start designing. The more I immersed myself in the design space by working with different creatives, the better the results.
My passion for 3d graphics, technology, creativity, things that shine and precision work. I had found my way! The dots on that sheet were coming together.
One of my first jewelry design
I have been designing jewelry since 2014 and I have been turning bizarre sketches (and 3d models) into jewelry for friends and family by helping them express a feeling for their loved one. I have found that I feel infinite joy in making a jewel that will help people I have never met to express all their love.
My mission here at GWUMM is simple, I want to connect my fans with the true values of love by helping them to express a feeling.
GWUMM is synonymous of a declaration of love, with such a strange name that everyone can pronounce it in own their way, as the love is. GWUMM is the moment you will always remember by making you realize how great a person's love can be.
